My new x-mid arrived just after Christmas. I have not taken it out on a trip
yet,but after a couple of test nights in my local forest, I thought I’d do a
quick ‘initial thoughts’ review because I am THAT EXCITED about this tent.
I have Sacro-Iliac Joint Dysfunction.
The Notch was my first ultralight tent, and I adore it so much I have named it.
The Hubba Hubba was my first backpacking tent. I used it on multiple trips, mostly
in Norway and Scotland, and always in bad weather. Usually I was alone, and only
shared it with another person for a couple of nights.
The Cape Wrath Trail is a ~240 mile mini thru hike
crossing the mountains and circling the lochs of north west Scotland.
While it has “trail” in the title, there is no such official route; rather the CWT is a collection
of tracks, paths and unmarked ways which walkers thread together, however they choose, to chart their own course from
Fort William to Cape Wrath, at the north-westernmost point of the UK mainland (or the reverse
if you decide to do it southbound).
